Littering will get fined in Calgary

Spring is comming and the snow has completely melt, but the weather of Calgary is still cold. When the snow is melting, I can see something has been hiden in the snow. What is that? That is the garbage which was thrown by someone and have been covered by snow for few weeks. Coinsidently, in this week, I have read the article from Metro that is about trashing garbage will get fined. In this article, I got to know, if someone throws garbige in the public, he/she will get fined about a hundred dollars. Why did the local government make this rule? It's because the local governemt suppose to make calgary to be the cleanest city in North America, So if someone goes on my blog and read this, please pay attention your behavior to prevent getting fined.

I was shocked by bus driver!!!

Tonight I was shocked by the driver of 73 route bus because he stopped the bus to ask two guys get off the bus.

Tonight, I finished my worked at 10:30pm, when I reached bus stop, I saw a man sleeping on the bench of the bus stop. I think he was drunk because tonight the alcohol of Den had discount. Few munites later, another man walked in the bus stop and woke the sleeping man up. The sleeping man woke up and started to talk with another man. From their conversation, the frequent word they used is "fuck". Later, bus came, I got on the bus and those tow guys got on too. They sat on the back of the bus and started their "fuck" conversation that made a girl who was sitting across those two men to change her seat in order to prevent hearing the coarse languages.

The bus stopped at the bus stop, and the driver asked those two men to leave. When I heard the driver's word and saw this scene, I was shocked because in my home city, bus driver absolutely would not do this kind of thing. However, in Calgary, coarse language speaker would be asked to leave.

From this case, I felt that some Calgarian are justise and polite!! I like this social atmosphere!!

In University of Calgary,Child soldier spoke his former life to give us awareness!!

Yesterday, it was Sunday, March 16 2008. A 27-year-old ex-Serria Leone soldier spoke at University of calgary about his former life, whose name is Ishmael Beah. In his speech, he told others about his experience of being a child soldier that have been writen in a book by himself. In his book, Ishmael Beah outlines his younger years of war and conflict.
When Ishmael Beah was 12 years old, he had been a soldier and had started to learned how to use real gun to kill the others, and he adicted to drug. In fact, at the begining, he recognized that what he did was wrong, but after weeks or months later, his mind was changed by the environment around him. And then, he believed violence and drug are the only way for his life. I think it is the most one of terrible things in the world, isn't it? It is like a man fell into swamp who is sinking and cannot safe by himself even has been aware of the wrong. In his speech, he not only told us his experience, but also told us the fact of the war-ravaged nations. I think in next post I will tell you the fact of war-ravaged nations.

Teenager need the internet less than adult, insteresting!!

Few days ago, I read an article about the statistic of the internet users. According to the article, it showed that recently adults' needs of the internet are more than teenagers' whose ages are between 14 and 17 because teenagers are focus on the other ways of communication instead the internet. In other words, the internet has been ignored by new generation. When I read this article, I felt very interesting because the internet is an innovation and a revolution of the way to conveying information, also, in the past ten years, the application of the internet have been booming and have been widely applied in each country of the world. However, why is it ignored by the new generation?

My first impression of Calgary

Calgary, which is the forth city I have been to, is a big and busy city in Canada. Unlike Vancouver, Calgary has less high building in downtown, but the building of Calgary are modern building, and its downtown also is smaller. I think the highest building in Calgary is Calgary Tower which looks like a symbol of Calgary. On september 5, 2007, my home-stay mother drove me to look around the whole city when is my second day in Calgary. With her ride, I found some areas have been constructing such as extending the road, constructing the building. The impression of my mind is that Calgary still is a developing city in Canada, although it has more than 1 million. However, Calgary has convenient transportation system such as CTrain that is like skytrain of Vancouver, but the speed of CTrain is lower than the skytrain's; also, there are many modern shopping mall in Calgary such as Market Mall, Chinook Mall, etc. With the modern building, mall, transportation syste, I think Calgary is a morden city, but in fact it also is developing.

As a result, Calgary give me the first impression is a modern developing city in Canada.
